Planning, Managing, Deciding, and Course Corrections

Which comes first: the decision or the plan? Which comes first: the plan or the strategy?

I say you don’t pull these apart. They aren’t sequential. What you want is planning, which is enmeshed and inseparable from decision making, both of which are also enmeshed and inseparable from decision changing, plan reviewing, course corrections, and management.

That comes up today because I just read  The decision before the decision on Seth Godin’s Blog:

I’m probably wrong, but making the decision before you make the decision seems backward.

It’s a short post, good food for thought.
